ASCAP Presents
Women Behind the Music in Atlanta last week, ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) is pleased to announce details of its upcoming events in Los Angeles and New York.
ASCAP Presents
Women Behind the Music is a new series of events produced exclusively by the women of ASCAP's Rhythm & Soul Team. The program is designed to encourage and recognize women in the music creator community, and features showcases and educational panels in Atlanta, Los Angeles and New York.
The series kicked off in Atlanta on August 25th with a high-profile showcase featuring dazzling performances by Grammy Award-winning songwriter and the newest addition to
Bravo's hit reality show,
The Real Housewives of Atlanta,
Kandi Burruss;
Alja Jackson aka Jesse Jane (Leftfield/Interscope Records);
Krave (Upfront Megatainment);
Mika Means (Universal/Motown Records); and
Brittany Street (Good ComPENy). The event was co-hosted by
DJ Traci Steele of 95.5 The Beat and Musiq Soulchild's official DJ.
