New York, NY, March 4, 2008: ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers) is pleased to announce its line-up of events at the 2008 SXSW Music Conference and Festival being held March 12 -16, 2008 in Austin, TX. ASCAP's high-profile showcases continue to be a highlight of the festival attracting capacity crowds and music industry heavyweights who come to see the best emerging singer-songwriters and bands from the U.S. and abroad.
In addition to staging its popular rock and acoustic "ASCAP Presents..." showcases and the Filter Magazine Parties, ASCAP will also host its annual Filmmaker BBQ, participate in music panel discussions, host its annual boat rides, as well as sponsor many other exciting showcases and parties to highlight the best and brightest in music.
