ASCAP member and Haiti native Wyclef Jean is appealing to the music creator community to help in the recovery and relief efforts now underway after Tuesday’s devastating earthquake in Haiti. The ASCAP Employees for Relief Fund is making a $5,000 contribution. But there is an easy way for everyone to contribute. The following is a message from Wyclef.
There is so much devastation and suffering caused by Tuesday's earthquake in my native home of Haiti. Over 3 million people impacted. The death toll is still unknown but estimated to be thousands. All this in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
Your help is desperately needed. The most important thing you can do is contribute to relief efforts. That is why I have set up the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. If you are able, please make a contribution now.
