Those selected receive all-expenses-paid residencies at Copland's restored, longtime home in Lower Hudson Valley.

HUCK HODGE with the 2008 Gaudeamus Prize for his piece "Parallaxes." Hodge has been commissioned by the Music Center of the Netherlands to write a new piece for the 2009 Gaudeamus Muziekweek.

JES as one of eight songwriters chosen by Coca-Cola to create music for its WE8 campaign and new aluminum bottles series. JES was the only female writer.

GRACE KELLY with Outstanding Jazz Act of the Year at the Boston Music Awards.

CHER and GENE KLOSNER'S two-disc lullaby album, Stardust, by iParenting Media, Parents' Choice, Creative Child Magazine, The Dove Foundation, Parents with Style and more.

JAVIER JIMMY LOPEZ with the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis during the 2008 Darmstadt Summer Course for Contemporary Music. This is the top honor at the festival. His work Fiesta! For orchestra was premiered by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in May.

CORY PARKINSON with the Illinois Music Educators Association's composition awards for Vocal Solo and Choral for the 2009 All-State Conference.

DAVE SAMUELS, bandleader/vibraphonist for Caribbean Jazz Project, with a Latin Grammy for Best Latin Jazz Album for Afro Bop Alliance. The Caribbean Jazz Project crafted their first recordings on Heads Up International in the 1990s and immediately captured the imagination of audiences and critics worldwide. The group won a Grammy in 2003.

ADAM SWINK with 'Fan Favorite' in the Indie Singer Songwriter Association Song Contest. He was also a young artist showcase performer in the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest.

JIMMY WOLF with 'Best Blues Recording' at the 2008 Native American Music Awards.

RAIN WORTHINGTON'S composition "Shredding Glass" with consideration for the 2009 Grammy Awards.
