ASCAP and SOCAN collaborate at the 2006 Folk Alliance Conference

ASCAP and SOCAN joined forces at the 2006 Folk Alliance Conference in Austin, Texas in February to produce the "No Borders Here" showcase as part of ASCAP's ongoing sponsorship of the North American Folk Alliance. The program featured an array of American and Canadian performers. Featured were ASCAP writers David Massengill, Gretchen Peters, the Red Stick Ramblers, Perla Battaglia and John Gorka. Among the SOCAN writers performing was Jane Siberry. In addition, ASCAP screened Margaret Brown's film documentary, Be Here to Love Me, about the life and music of the late Texas singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt.
