Phantom Planet
You might expect a band called Phantom Planet to land on Deep Space Nine -- but Sabrina, the Teenage Witch? Fortunately for Alex Greenwald, Jacques Brautbar, Darren Robinson, Sam Farrar and Jason Schwartzman, Sabrina star Melissa Joan Hart has great taste in tunes!
After hearing the quintet's gutsy sincere, guitar-driven debut, Phantom Planet Is Missing (Geffen), "She picked us to be on the Sabrina soundtrack - then she came to see us live and invited us on her show," says frontman Alex.

Cool as the TV exposure was, it was just a typical day for these L.A. natives. Not only do they hobnob with notables ("Just last night we hung out with Courtney Love and some people from Hole, and they were really nice," says Alex), several of the sweeties dabble in modeling and acting -- drummer Jason even had a pretty meaty role in the Bill Murray movie Rushmore.
"With acting, you're projecting yourself as a different person, but with music you're showing what you truly are inside," Alex explains. Besides, playing live is what fuels these guys. "We just wanna blow people away!" says bassman Sam. Phantom Planet plan on doing exactly that all spring, so look for them in your orbit soon.
