Jaebon Hwang received a B.M. in Composition through the preparatory training program for young artists from Korea National University of Arts. She recently earned her Master's in Film Scoring from NYU, as a student of Ira Newborn. A participant in the NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in Memory of Buddy Baker, ASCAP/Columbia University Film Scoring workshop and the 2007 Tunes, Toons, and Trikfilms series at Lincoln Center, Hwang earned the prize for 3 rd place in a field of over 850 entries in the 8 th Annual Young Film Composers Competition, sponsored by Turner Classic Movies.
