Joseph Arthur

Joseph Arthur

Songsmith and Grammy-nominated visual artist, Joseph Arthur, was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and currently resides in New York City, where he recently opened the Brooklyn art gallery, the Museum of Modern Arthur. Discovered by Peter Gabriel more than a decade ago, Joseph Arthur is one of the most critically hailed songwriters of our time. He has scored the films Hell's Kitchen and the Academy Award nominated documentary, Deliver Us From Evil , with several songs appearing in Shrek, American Wedding, Shallow Hal and The Bourne Identity. His single "In the Sun" has been covered by Michael Stipe and Coldplay's Chris Martin, with remixes by Justin Timberlake and will.i.am for an EP to benefit Hurricane Katrina relief. In 2008, he will release a four-EP prelude leading up to the August full-length, All You Need Is Nothing (Lonely Astronaut Records).

"One of our most emotionally revealing and talented singer-songwriters." — Vanity Fair
