Music BBQ/Mixer Party,” co-sponsored
by MusicPro and Cypress Films, at Stubbs (801
Red River Street) from 5:00 pm – 9:00
pm. The evening will include special performances
by Los Mescaleros, and Mike
Doughty who contributed music to Cypress
Films' EvenHand.

"ASCAP Pays on Live Music: Learn
the Facts." A panel moderated
by ASCAP Executive VP/Membership Todd Brabec,
and featuring ASCAP member Ray Benson of Asleep
At The Wheel, Jeff Brabec, VP Business Affairs
at Chrysalis Music Group, Richard Perna, co-owner
of Rich Door Music, and ASCAP regional representative
Jan Mirkin. Co-sponsored by the Texas Music
Chart, the panel focuses on earning income for
the live performances of your songs through
the ASCAPlu$ Awards Program. Additional topics
to be discussed include the many areas where
writers and publishers make money from their
music. The panel will take place at Steamboat
(110 E Riverside Drive) from Noon - 2:00 PM.
It is free of charge and is open to touring
artists, songwriters, ASG members, ACC, SWTS,
UTS and UT students. SXSW badges are not necessary
for entry.
