Nineteen-year-old Scottish singer-songwriter Robert Shields signed last year to peermusic in Los Angeles. His piano-led compositions are large-scale, strong songs, complemented by a powerful vocal with anthemic lyrics and melodies. Currently working with Retone/Leftwing Records, Shields' past achievements include winning the UK MIBI Award in 2005, judged by Coldplay's Chris Martin, amongst others. He was named as a Young Scot of the Year in 2006 and noted as one of Scotland's Top 20 Influential Teenagers in the Herald newspaper. Robert has recently been recording with L.A. producer Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Chris Isaac) at Capitol Studios and is delighted to be part of SXSW for ASCAP.
