SXSW 2006 - Filmmaker BBQ & Party and
"AFTER…BEFORE" All-Star Jam with Erykah Badu

Sunday, March 12

ASCAP will host its annual invitation-only Filmmaker BBQ & Film Music Party for the festival's filmmakers and composers at Cedar Street Courtyard (208 West 4th St.) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Iron Mountain, the film and music archive storage company in Hollywood, will co-sponsor the party, with an open bar and delicious food provided by Iron Works BBQ.

Following the ASCAP Party, "AFTER…BEFORE" – an All-Star Celebration Jam Session & Official Before the Music Dies After-Party – will take place at the Austin Music Hall (208 Nueces) starting at 8:00 p.m. More than 3000 guests will party to the live music of such featured artists as Correo Aereo, Ephraim Owens, Blaze, Doyle Bramhall II, Erykah Badu, Funksway (Featuring: Erykah Badu, Doyle Bramhall II, Wendy & Lisa, Mike Elizondo, James Poyser, ?uestlove and Susannah Melvoin), DJ Jazzy Jeff, plus special surprise guests that will be sure to have Austin rocking into the wee hours. Pre-show entertainment featuring the Small Stars and Go Nova starts at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Described as "A portrait of the nation that gave the world gospel, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, rock and roll, rap, and hip-hop," Before the Music Dies features interviews and performances from Erykah Badu, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Branford Marsalis, The Dave Matthews Band, Les Paul, Bonnie Raitt, ?uestlove, and many more. Directed by Andrew Shapter, produced by Joel Rasmussen, and narrated by Forest Whitaker, the world premiere is set for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 12 at the Paramount Theatre (713 Congress Avenue).
