Tim & Eric
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim met in 1994 as first year film students at Temple University. Following graduation, Tim moved to New York to pursue writing and acting, while Eric remained in Philadelphia as a photographer. The two remained in close contact, often getting together on weekends to shoot short films for their web site, Timanderic.com. During a moment of desperation, Heidecker sent a Tom Goes to the Mayor tape to Bob Odenkirk, creator of HBO's Mr. Show with Bob and David. Over the next two years, Tim and Eric kept in close contact with Bob and released a DVD, The Ultimate DVD Collection Volume 1.
Eventually, one of their DVDs made its way into the hands of Adult Swim head Mike Lazzo, who ordered 13 episodes of Tom Goes to the Mayor. Thirty episodes later, Tim and Eric have garnered a cult following and numerous accolades, including a spot on Variety's 2006 list of "10 Comics to Watch."
In the fall of 2006, Adult Swim signed Tim and Eric on for 10 episodes of a live-action sketch show called Tim and Eric's Awesome Show, Great Job, which first aired on February 11. On February 25, they embarked on an Awesome Show live tour, passing through such major cities as New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle, San Francisco and San Antonio. The tour was shot documentary style for their fans to enjoy.
In addition to their work with Adult Swim, Tim and Eric also produce two cartoons for Comedy Central's web site The Mother Lode: Steven and Stephen and Super Special Dog. |
