The ASCAP Foundation Louis Armstrong Award Honoring W.C. Handy at Mount Vernon High School
Created in celebration of W.C. Handy's 125th birthday, a scholarship, funded by the endowment of the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation, is awarded to a student at Mt. Vernon High School based on abilities in music performance and composition.
