ASCAP Members Sweep 42nd Annual CMA Awards
Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait Among Big Winners at 42nd Annual CMA Awards
ASCAP members swept nearly all of the categories at the 42nd Annual CMA Awards, "Country Music's Biggest Night," held on Wednesday, November 12th in Nashville. The three-hour, star-studded live telecast was co-hosted by Brad Paisley, who picked up his second consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year award. Country legend George Strait picked up four awards for his album
Troubadour, bringing his CMA Award total to 22 and earning him the title of artist with the most awards in CMA history. One of Country's greatest showmen, Kenny Chesney won his fourth Entertainer of the Year Award, tying the record for the most wins in that category. Vocal Duo of the Year Sugarland thrilled the crowd with a passionate rendition of "Love," while lead singer Jennifer Nettles walked away with her first Song of the Year award for the duo's single, "Stay."
