On August 10, 2006, ASCAP's Latin Dept. celebrated another installment in its long running series of "Latin Acoustic Sounds" in the second floor loft at Yuca, located on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. The talented songwriters that participated at this exclusive gathering were Pablo Portillo, Carolina La O, Roque Valero and Héctor Montaner. In a new stage in his life, Pablo Portillo stood out by his interpretation of the ballad "Te Quise Olvidar" it was the theme that propelled an ascending turn to his career in the United States and Puerto Rico. Next to perform was Columbian Carolina La O, who prepares herself for the launching of La Candela De Mi Fuego, her most recent musical production, a fusing of folkloric rhythms from her homeland and Latin pop. In continuation, Roque Valero performed a rousing set, interpreting the tune that he sings next to his great friend Franco De Vita, the main theme song of the soap opera "Ciudad Bendita" single that is included in his extensive catalog as a songwriter. The show concluded with Héctor Montaner, who after his first successful album "Amor del Bueno" is preparing the material for his second album with the new record label VENE music. This production is the result of arduous work from this talented young singer-songwriter, who happened to have been celebrating his birthday with us that night. The evening was spectacular, and we thank all of the participants and those present.
