Uplifting Minds II Conference in Los Angeles

At the Uplifting Minds II Conference in Los Angeles, ASCAP's Charis Henry congratulated 10-year-old Mariah Raizel, the talent competition's Grand Prize Winner.

"UPLIFTING MINDS II" is an entertainment industry conference held annually at designated hotels and urban malls in Baltimore, Los Angeles, and Houston. It consists of a day of seminars hosted by some of the best entertainment industry executives in the business today, followed by a free competition showcasing the talents of 7 - 21 year olds in the areas of music, art (including dance), literature (including songwriting) and fashion design.

The talent competition in Los Angeles was preceded by a panel discussion featuring ASCAP's Charis Henry, and other notable industry executives and artists who were on hand to answer questions about the music business.
